## About This Library

The MFM Presentations Library is the first open-source collection of Maternal-Fetal Medicine educational presentations on GitHub. Created by Dr. Chukwuma Onyeije, a board-certified MFM specialist practicing in Atlanta, Georgia, this library provides free, evidence-based clinical education for patients, OB/GYN providers, MFM fellows, and sonographers.

All content is grounded in guidelines from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), and peer-reviewed literature. The library covers high-risk pregnancy conditions including preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, fetal growth restriction, twin pregnancies, fetal anomalies, and more.

## Clinical Scope

The library addresses the following clinical domains:

**Hypertensive Disorders:** Preeclampsia, chronic hypertension in pregnancy, hypertensive disorders classification per ACOG PB #222 and CHAP 2022 guidelines.

**Diabetes & Metabolic Conditions:** Gestational diabetes (GDM) per ACOG 2024 Practice Bulletin #190, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in pregnancy, morbid obesity, gastric bypass and pregnancy, thyroid management.

**Fetal Growth & Surveillance:** Fetal growth restriction (FGR) per SMFM Consult #52, IUGR and Doppler velocimetry, large for gestational age (LGA), small for gestational age (SGA).

**Fetal Cardiology:** Fetal echocardiography, fetal arrhythmias, hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), atrial septal aneurysm, pericardial effusion, dilated coronary sinus.

**Genetics & Prenatal Screening:** NIPT, nuchal translucency, cystic fibrosis carrier status, spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), alpha thalassemia, sickle cell carrier status, hemoglobinopathies.

**Fetal Anomalies:** Open neural tube defects (spina bifida), ventriculomegaly, choroid plexus cysts, echogenic bowel, skeletal dysplasia, gastroschisis, omphalocele.

**Obstetric Complications:** Preterm birth, PPROM, cervical incompetence and cerclage, placenta previa, placenta accreta spectrum, umbilical cord abnormalities.

**Twin Pregnancies:** Di-Di twins, MCDA twin pregnancy, twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), delivery timing for twins.

**Medical Conditions in Pregnancy:** Asthma, Crohn's disease and IBD, anemia, intracranial hypertension (IIH), antidepressants in pregnancy, acetaminophen safety, Ramadan fasting, cannabis use.

**Prenatal Counseling:** Advanced maternal age, preconception counseling, late prenatal care, grand multiparity, short interval pregnancy, breech presentation and ECV, Factor V Leiden.

**Sonographer Training:** Gestational dating, fetal echocardiography technique.

**GYN / Women's Health:** Menopausal hormone therapy, women's health screening across the lifespan.

The library includes thirteen interactive clinical decision-support tools:

1. **Preeclampsia Screener** (preeclampsia-screener.com): Evidence-based risk calculator using maternal characteristics, medical history, and biomarkers. Provides ACOG/USPSTF guideline-based aspirin prophylaxis recommendations.

2. **FGRManager**: SMFM Consult #52 delivery-timing tool for fetal growth restriction. Uses umbilical artery Doppler-driven risk tiers, surveillance schedules, and corticosteroid eligibility.

3. **GDM Screener**: Clinical decision support for gestational diabetes screening timing per ACOG 2024 Practice Bulletin #190.

4. **HTN in Pregnancy Screener**: Hypertension classification tool per ACOG PB #222 and CHAP 2022 guidelines.

5. **Fetal Growth Biometry Calculator**: Uses INTERGROWTH-21st, Hadlock, and WHO standards for EFW, Doppler indices, and FGR/SGA/LGA classification.
